Born in Canada, Leah moved to the States at the age of 7 and did most of her growing up in Seattle. After graduating from Seattle Pacific Univeristy (SPU) in 2002 with a degree in nutrition, she went on to complete her certification requirements at the University of Washington to become a registered dietitian. She hopes to eventually use her training with malnourished populations. The past two years Leah has worked as a dietitian at a community hospital in Bellflower, CA. As a health conscious person she enjoys running, biking, and making sure her husband doesn’t over eat.

Tim Graduated from SPU in 2001 with degrees in History and Educational Ministry. After completing his studies he spent a year living with a Haitian family, in rural Haiti, and learned to speak Creole. He hopes to one-day finish his secondary education credential which he began this past year at California State University Long Beach. Over the past three years he has worked as a waiter in an assortment of culinary venues. Tim grew up in Southern California, and is fanatic of Dodgers baseball and Canadians (not in that order).

Tim and Leah were married in August of 2004. Before their most recent move, they lived in Long Beach, CA where they participated in a number of community programs and projects. Over the past year they have spent a considerable amount of time promoting the opening of California’s first Ten Thousand Villages, Fair Trade, retail store, scheduled to open this summer in Pasadena. Tim and Leah currently work for Beyond Borders and live in Jacmel, Haiti
